Huntley Care was founded by two visionary leaders, Paulo Almayda and Shoaib Khan, who shared one simple but powerful belief: every person deserves dignity, respect, and compassionate care – no matter their age, ability, or background.
Our beginning
The heart behind Huntley Care
The name “Huntley” was chosen to symbolise hope, humanity, and unity. It reflects the journey of “hunting” for better standards in care – a pursuit of excellence guided by empathy and integrity. To Paulo and Shoaib, Huntley Care represents more than a company name – it is a promise: to nurture lives, protect the vulnerable, and restore dignity to those who need it most.
The inspiration behind Huntley Care began years ago, within the corridors of busy hospitals and the homes of families seeking trustworthy support. Paulo Almayda, an experienced Emergency Nurse with over 16 years of service in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), witnessed first-hand the challenges faced by patients, families, and care professionals. His experiences – from comforting a frightened elderly patient in A&E to supporting individuals with complex needs – instilled in him a lifelong mission: to bring compassion back to the centre of care.
Meanwhile, Shoaib Khan, having lived and worked in Malta, developed a deep understanding of how care could transform lives when delivered with empathy and respect. His work across sectors – from healthcare and recruitment to community outreach – exposed him to the urgent need for ethical, reliable, and person-centred support for young adults with learning disabilities and the elderly population in Malta. His passion lies in ensuring that no one is left behind, and that vulnerable individuals are given opportunities to live meaningful, independent lives.

Together, Paulo and Shoaib envisioned a care organisation that would bridge the gap between clinical excellence and human connection. Thus, Huntley Care was born – a trusted name in home and community care across the United Kingdom and Malta.
